A fine early 19th century large urn shaped pendant. The pendant is beautifully proportioned in a large scale, and is made of sterling silver. The lid opens and reveals its original grater. This urn was to keep nutmeg, as nutmeg was one of the valuable spices in the late 18th and early 19th century. The body of the urn is hand-engraved on both front and back, and we love the dangling handle details on each side of the body. The lid opens and closes with a good snap sound.
This beautiful urn will make a bold statement pendant. It is most likely English in origin, and overall in very good condition with natural patina.
